FAQs for PRO Closure
On June 26, 2018, the Office of the Provost announced that the School of Architecture and Design, the School of Pharmacy, and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences declined to renew their access to Faculty PRO. This page offers FAQs for faculty and staff in those schools about transitioning out of PRO.
|When will I lose access to my PRO?||August 3, 2018. The PRO Office recommends that faculty who use PRO update their information and generate any reports they wish to store for themselves before that deadline.|
|What will happen to my webpage that's pulling information from my PRO?||
After August 3, webpages will no longer update. Content already on the webpage will remain. To update your webpage, you can fill out a request form to KU IT.
The form is available here: https://cms.ku.edu/myprofile.
Requests can include changes to profile pictures, publications, biographies or anything else on profile webpages. Alternatively, if individual units already have a web administrator, faculty can work through them.
Website administrators: content from PRO will remain on the webpage after PRO 'goes dark.' To update that information, you will need to deactivate PRO in the CMS and enter updates manually. |What will happen to my information kept in PRO?||The University of Kansas owns those data and they will be archived by both KU IT and the software vendor Digital Measures. The Office of Faculty Development and Mentoring will also archive records in a searchable spreadsheet format and will create an archive of comprehensive CVs that faculty and staff can access by request.|
|Can I get a copy of my data in PRO?||Yes. Please contact Emily Lowrance-Floyd in Faculty Development (firstname.lastname@example.org) for a copy of your data in either XML or Excel formats.|
|What if I had been planning to use PRO for promotion and tenure?||The Office of Faculty Development and Mentoring will create an archive of P&T and PTTR candidate CVs generated by PRO for faculty approaching P&T milestones. Please feel free to contact Emily Lowrance-Floyd (email@example.com) for more information or to request a copy of your P&T/PTTR candidate CV.|
|I'm jointly appointed in a school that will renew Faculty PRO. What will happen to my PRO account?||Faculty who hold a joint appointment in a school that will renew PRO will have their accounts transferred to that school. Your PRO will still be active.|
